Overview

The Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District (GLACVCD) is a public health agency formed in 1952 to protect the residents of the Greater Los Angeles County from mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases.

The district serves 37 cities and portions of unincorporated Los Angeles County: Artesia, Bell, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Burbank, Carson, Cerritos, Commerce, Cudahy, Diamond Bar, Downey, Gardena, Glendale, Hawaiian Gardens, Huntington Park, La Cañada Flintridge, La Habra Heights, Lakewood, La Mirada, Long Beach, Los Angeles City, Los Angeles County, Lynwood, Maywood, Montebello, Norwalk, Paramount, Pico Rivera, San Fernando, San Marino, Santa Clarita, Santa Fe Springs, Signal Hill, South El Monte, South Gate, Vernon, and Whittier.

Mosquito League Education Program

The Mosquito Gals is a dynamic duo team who run GLACVCD's Education Program. Ms. Lily and Ms. Diana have been with the District since 2019 and they seek to educate and foster student interest in pursuing future scientific careers in Entomology, Biology, and Public Health.

Our Mosquito League Education Program provides fun and educational activities that promote student comprehension and learning. This educational experience addresses public health, environmental sustainability, and vector control while helping teachers reach science standard goals.
